Your Caring Role

Anyone can become a Carer. Carers come from all walks of life, all cultures and can be of any age. It is estimated that there are around 24,000 family Carers in Milton Keynes and around 1,000 young Carers. Every day another six thousand people nationally take on a caring role. Many family Carers do not recognise themselves as a Carer; they are just looking after their son, daughter, father or wife and doing what anyone else would do in the same situation.

You may be a:

Parent Carer
Young Carer
Working Carer
Carer from the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Community

You may look after someone with: ·

a mental health problem
dementia
learning disabilities
a serious or life-limiting condition

Or you may be new to caring or adjusting to life as your caring role has ended.
